Darren draws upon 35 years of vehicle, powertrain and component operations and product development experience from General Motors leading automobile programs with P & L responsibility, engine manufacturing operations & lean manufacturing improvements and as Plant Manager for power steering pump production at Delphi Automotive. Darren has held product planning, industrial engineering and corporate strategy positions and was developing a low investment, agile production system when he led manufacturing for the HUMMER spin off. Darren brought a number of innovative products to the market during his 10 years as Vehicle Line Director including the Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Opel Zafira and Chevrolet Impala which he led from concept to production. He holds a Bachelor Degree in industrial Engineering from Kettering University (previously General Motors Institute) and Masters Degree in Management from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Anthony Posawatz, P.E. Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors
Anthony currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. He most recently served as President & CEO of Fisker Automotive (founded in late 2007 and producer of the award-winner Karma plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) from August 2012 to August 2013, leading the company’s turnaround efforts which culminated in the sale of its Department of Energy (DoE) loan to new owners. A seasoned automotive industry professional with over 30 years of experience (mostly with General Motors and over 20 years as an Executive), Mr. Posawatz is best known for his leadership in product innovation (“father of the Chevy Volt”) as well as having deep functional expertise in product development, planning and strategy, program management, finance, manufacturing and quality including general management experience overseeing billion dollar projects as well as the challenging tech start-up environment in both growth and turnaround situations. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University and MBA from Dartmouth College, Tuck School of Business).
Simon Ahn is an attorney with 20 years of business law experience and has been managing partner and counsel for the law firm of Ahn and Associates, LLC since 1996. Simon has personally negotiated and successfully transacted more than 2000 business and real estate transactions.
In addition to being the largest investor of ALTe, Simon Ahn is also the Principal and owner of Green Detroit Regional Center and represents the investors’ interest of SMS Investment Group, LLC.
He graduated with B.A. from the University of Chicago and attended Hofstra University School of Law with a full three year academic scholarship.
Theodore (Ted) Oshman / Director
Ted Oshman brings 30 years of investment experience in start-up enterprises to the ALTe board of directors. Trained as an attorney, Ted has provided early stage equity and debt financing to companies in the software, internet technology, medical technology, real estate, consumer product and green energy industries. He has made significant investments in companies such as Quigo, LLC., Novacure, The .TV Corporation, Sonaro Realty, CyberTavern, LLC, Eyescene, OBU Interactive, Two Dogs, LLC., Reonomy, LLC., Real Imaging and AppZorz, Inc.
In addition to his investment activities at ALTe and other companies, Ted serves as a member of the boards of numerous educational institutions, communal organizations and other not-for-profit organizations. He earned a BS in biology from the University of Rochester and a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. He has been designated a “SuperLawyer” by Thomson Reuters based upon his professional achievements as an attorney.
